A Life Well-Lived
Joel J. Troyer was born in Phillipsburg, Kansas, on April 6, 1955, one of five boys to Duane and Jean Troyer. He was tragically and unexpectedly taken from his family and friends on March 28, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas—just a week before his 70th birthday.
Joel attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa, and trained as a mechanic in Kansas City. He moved to Wichita in 1979, working for Classen Electric before cofounding ElectriCraft, Inc. in October of 1984. Over the next 40+ years, he served the Wichita community with honesty and integrity, touching countless lives through his work and relationships.
Joel was steadfast in his faith in Jesus Christ and lived his life guided by biblical principles. He was deeply devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and he cherished every moment spent traveling and making memories with them. Whether riding across the country with his wife Carol or enjoying solo "throttle therapy" on his motorcycle, Joel found joy in both adventure and quiet moments.
He was a kind, generous, and humble man of unwavering integrity—always ready to lend a hand or offer guidance. His influence extended far beyond his profession and into the hearts of everyone who knew him.
